TBN Grow

Free UTM link builder and QR code generator

Tag your link with UTM parameters so Google Analytics shows which channel each visitor came from, then turn that same link into a QR code for flyers, business cards and packaging.

1. Build a UTM link

2. Create a QR code

Logo in the middle (optional)The image is processed on your device only and never uploaded. With a logo, damage tolerance switches to High.

Always test with 2–3 different phones before printing in bulk. In print, keep the code at least 2 cm (0.8 in) wide.

Everything runs in your browser; TBN Grow stores no links or images. The QR code points straight to your link, not through TBN’s servers, so it works forever.

What are UTM links for?

When you promote in many places (Facebook, email, TikTok, flyers…), Google Analytics often only knows that someone visited, not where they came from. Adding UTM tags to your links makes every visit carry its source, medium and campaign name, so you can see which channels bring visitors and sales and put your budget where it works.

The 5 UTM parameters

  • utm_source (required): where visitors come from, for example facebook, newsletter, flyer.
  • utm_medium: the kind of channel, for example social, cpc, email, qr, print.
  • utm_campaign: the campaign name, for example black-friday or new-product-launch.
  • utm_term: the ad keyword (mostly Google Ads).
  • utm_content: tells versions or positions apart, for example red-image or end-button.

QR codes + UTM to measure print

Print a different QR code in each place: utm_source=flyer on flyers, utm_source=businesscard on business cards, utm_source=packaging on packaging (all with utm_medium=qr). At the end of the month Google Analytics shows how many visitors each printed item brought – something print advertising could hardly measure before.

Seeing the results in Google Analytics 4

  • Go to Reports → Acquisition → Traffic acquisition.
  • Switch the first column to Session source / medium to see each source, or Session campaign to see each campaign.
  • Data usually appears within a few hours to a day. For instant checks, use Reports → Realtime.

Frequently asked questions

My website has no Google Analytics. Do UTM links still help?

The link opens normally, but nothing reads the UTM tags, so you won’t see any numbers. Add Google Analytics (free) or a similar analytics tool; Shopify, WordPress and most site builders make this easy. QR codes work right away without anything else.

Do the QR codes expire?

No. These QR codes contain your link directly, with no redirect server in between, so they scan forever as long as the destination works. Note that a printed code can’t be changed, so double-check before printing.

PNG or SVG?

PNG is for the web, social media and slides. SVG is a vector image that stays sharp at any size, so send it to your printer or use it for large banners and stands.

Does a logo in the middle make the code harder to scan?

QR codes tolerate damage: at High level they still read with about 30% covered. The tool switches to High when you add a logo and keeps the logo small and centred. Still, test before printing.

Should I use UTM on links within my own website?

No. UTM tags on internal links make Google Analytics start a new session and record the wrong source. Use UTM only on links placed elsewhere: social media, email, ads, flyers.
